Our Story

I live in the beautiful coastal town of Whitstable, Kent well known for its oysters. Our little venture started in 2020 lockdown from our kitchen after being left with no work or any perspective on when things would return to some normality. With this in mind, I decided to channel my attention into something positive by creating beautiful natural scents that would put a smile on people’s faces and make their happy place called home smell amazing. As a bit of a perfectionist after months of research, planning, trial and error using a ton of essential oils, samples and different soy waxes, I successfully made my first candles and melts which were gifted to family and friends. They all loved them and encouraged me to start my own business.

This is how Almasea was born, meaning ‘soul of the sea’, my everyday inspiration for creating pure and natural products helping you to unwind and relax your body and soul. We launched on Etsy just before Christmas 2020 and it has gone beyond our wildest expectations. We have now plans to build a brand new studio and this is so exciting to finally being able to have a proper working space and not be surrounded by boxes in every corner of the house!

Only the highest quality ingredients are used for our products. The candles, melts and reed diffusers are carefully hand poured in small batches only made of pure essential oils which are vegan, cruelty free and biodegradable soy wax derived from natural, renewable resources providing a clean burn and less soot in your home which makes it a much better alternative to petroleum derived paraffin wax. Many of our dry flowers and herbs are from our Whitstable garden and we pride ourselves for not using any colorants or additives in our products.

Being an eco minded company we always try our best to use only recyclable materials eco friendly paper tape and not a single use of plastic in our packaging.
